Child Dies at NC County Fair Due to E. Coli Infection

According to the Department of Health and Human Services states that the boy died Saturday, and there were ten other children along with 4 adults that were contaminated with the E. coli bacteria and were made ill. According to the Cleveland County Fair director, they try to always do what they can to make sure that the food products are far away from the animals at their fairs, and that there are an abundance of places and products for the people to use for sanitation. Unfortunately, it is believed that the E. coli that is usually found in the waste of animals was somehow passed on to the foods and these people ingested the bacteria.
This poor child went to the fair expecting to enjoy a day with animals, friends and family and the fresh air, little did he know that something would infect him with a deadly bacteria and claim his life. While many times these incidents are not done on purpose, often times they happen when the proper safety procedures aren’t implemented. Because of the negligence or overlooking of a regulation in any sort of situation, people can be injured or killed.
