Young Woman Killed By Truck As She Tried To Cross The Street

Leduc, Canada: On January 11, 2012, a 19-year-old woman was killed by an F350 truck as she tried to cross the street. Although alcohol and speed appear not to have been factors in this tragic pedestrian accident, authorites believe that the position of the sun and sun's light through the truck's windshield may have been factors. What's so sad about this accident is that, like so many accidents, it did not have to happen. Drivers should plan ahead before they get behind the wheel. If it is especially bright outside, wear sunglasses. Put the visor down. If the sun shines right into your eyes, stop, pull over, and resume driving once the sun is no longer a danger. Countless car accidents are caused by drivers continuing to drive despite difficulty seeing the road.
