Connecticut: After Sherry Chapman's son, Ryan Ramirez, died in a car accident at the age of 19, she had to face how to go on living without her son. Ryan was killed in a
drunk driving accident - he was the passenger. Chapman, along with the parents of two other children who were killed by drunk or distracted drivers, formed a group called the Mourning Parents Act, also knows as !MPACT. The group lectures to young people in Connecticut about the dangers of drunken or distracted driving; car accidents caused by drivers who e-mail or text while driving and car accidents caused by drunk drivers. !MPACT hopes to show young people that driving while distracted kills.
